Well today is my mom's birthday! I know everyone thinks they have the most amazing mom, but I truely do!!! She is one of my very best friends and I can count on her for anything and everything!!! She is always there for me weather I need a shoulder to cry on, someone to vent too, or just want to chat!!! She is amazing and I love her so much!!!! Happy Birthday mom I love you!

Christmas Tree!

So we finally got a Christmas tree and decorated it tonight! I think it turned out wonderfully!!! Now there is a little story behind our tree this year! Last year after Christmas my mom and I went shopping and I found a 6 ft fake tree which I purchased! I figured that the years that we were going out of town for Christmas we could set up the fake tree and the years we stayed here we could get a real tree! Well the week after Thanksgiving I pulled out the fake tree and tried to fluff it! It still looked TERRIBLE!!! It gained the nick name of the "Charlie Brown Tree" it was a sad looking tree! So Sam said we needed to get a real one!!! I tried to talk him out of it because we are going to the cabin for Christmas and then to Mexico for New Years again this year! But I lost the fight and we now have a beautiful real tree!!! I personally don't think the pictures do the tree justice but I am bias!!! Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!

Baxter did so well! He didn't try to eat the ornaments off the tree at all!!!!

Still Alive!!

Yes we are still alive! No the blog has not been on my priority list lately! Sorry!! A lot has happened since my last post! For one we bought our first house!!!! WooHoo!!!!! (A bit of a hassle, but totally worth it!!) Two, I turned 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm now legal!!! Three, we have added a new member to our family!!! Sam got me a dog for my birthday!!! His name is Baxter and he is the cutest little Beagle ever!!!

And finally, my family was able to come to our house for Thanksgiving!!! It was so weird to be hosting Thanksgiving at our house! But I think everyone enjoyed it and I loved having enough space for everyone to come and stay comfortably!! They just loved Baxter as well!! So that was a lot of fun!!!

Now for the fun part!! Here are a few pictures of the house and the puppy!!!

Family Reuion!

Ok so i know this is ancient history, but in the middle of July Sam and i went up to Alpine, Wyoming for Sam's family reunion!!! We had a ton of fun!!!! We went river rafting, 4-wheeling, and spent lots of time with the family!!! In case you are interested, here are some pictures from the week!!! Enjoy!!!

Yesterday (6/14) Sam and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary!! Ya us!!! We had planned to go 4-wheeling on Saturday but the weather did not cooperate with our plans so we just hung out at home!!! It was a great day!!! Then Sunday we ate the top of our wedding cake that Sam's mom was so kind to store in her freezer for us!!! (It wasn't that great!) Then tonght we went to The Melting Pot for dinner!!! It was fantastic!!! Neither of us had ever been and we really enjoyed it!!!!

I am so lucky to have found such an amazing man to spend the rest of forever with!! He truely is amazing and does so much for me!!! Love you babe!!!!

A few weeks ago Sam had to do some training down in St. George so of course I got the time off so I could tag along! While we were down there we decided to go up to Springdale to visit my grandparents, Sam had never been up to see their house and where they live! He had been to Zions but just not to their house. We went to a newer restaurant called Blondie's, a women my mom knew growing up opened the restaurant a few years ago! Then we went to a few of the gift shops around Springdale, we got a really cool landscape looking sandstone picture!! My mom and I also made some homemade strawberry jam. Yummy!

Easter Weekend!

Some Things Never Change!

What you might ask... My mom is always right! Now I don't know if my mom would agree with exactly how I phrase this, but the gist of it is all the same!
Growing up I always wanted to buy green nail polish! ALWAYS! I just thought it would be cool! My mom however always talked me out of it, she said it would look like fungus or something on my nails! Since I have always valued her opinion I never bought green nail polish. Well she isn't in Salt Lake, and I am married now, so I don't go shopping with her very often anymore. So I went and bought green nail polish! My husband didn't say a word, it was the color I wanted so I got it! Well last night I painted my fingernails green! Needless to say, my mom was right! It just doesn't look very good!! I got to work this morning and a few of the guys I work with made some comments! I don't think I will be using this color on my hands anymore! Maybe I will try it on my toes and see how that goes!!!

What once was lost, now is found!

It took him 9 months, but he finally did it! What did he do you might ask? He lost his wedding ring! So last Sunday my amazing husband was putting lotion on my feet and after he finished he realized his wedding ring was missing! He was sure that it had come off and was in the couch somewhere. Well we took the bottom or our couch off with no avail! So we looked everywhere we would think of and couldn't find it!!! We even called Wal-Mart because he thought maybe it had come off while we were grocery shopping. So after searching for a week and not finding the ring we had both come to the conclusion that we weren't going to find it and that we would just have to buy a new one. I told Sam that he was allowed 10 replacement rings during our marriage. His only question following that was "What happens after the 10th??"
Well Monday night I did a load of my laundry, and when I was taking everything out of the washer and putting it in the dryer I heard a clanking noise that I thought must be a coin. Well when I looked it was nothing other than... SAM'S RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited!!!!!! I ran into the living room to tell Sam but couldn't speak! I was so excited that the ring had been found!!
You know what he said to me after he put it on?!?!?! "Umm it feels kinda weird on my finger, I might have to wear it a little at a time so I can get used to it again." Can you believe that!?!?!?!?

Flying Kites!

This last week Sam talked me into going to go to the park to fly kites! So we went to Wal-Mart and picked out our kites! They had a very limited selection of kites! But they were only $1!!! (How can you pass that up?!?!) Sam immediately grabbed the Transformers kite, and I got an Elmo kite even though Sam was begging me to get the Iron Man one! Then we went to a park down the street from our house and played with our kites for at least an hour! It was so much fun!!! Unfortunately Elmo had a few problems... Sam had absolutely no problem getting Optimus Prime up in the air flying! Elmo on the other hand must be afraid of heights... he wouldn't stay up very long, and wanted to veer left and down!!! Here are a few pictures of our "date"...

Valentine's Day!!

Well our first Valentine's Day being married was fantastic! We were in St. George because Sam had to train fro work. So Friday night we decided to go down to Mesquite for dinner. So we called a couple of the hotels and the Eureka had a seafood buffet. So we decided to go down for that. It was fantastic!!! When we got back to my parents house that night we exchanged gifts! Sam got me this:

The $100 Question!

Here's the story! Last week Sam had to train in St. George, so Wednesday night we drove down after we got off work. So it was about 11:30pm and we decided to go get some food. Sam didn't want mexican food and we didn't want to go somewhere and sit down, so that ruled out Denny's, Del Taco and Alvero's. So we drove around the entire town of St. George and Washington and the only 2 drive thru's open were McDonald's and Wenershnitzel!!!!! Sam was SOOOO pissed!!!!!!!!! We couldn't believe that nothing was open! So went ended up at McDonald's and it actually wasn't bad! But we just wished we had had more of a variety to choose from!

Mexican New Year!!

I hope you are ready for a picture overload!!! Last year Sam went to Mexico over New Years with some of his cousins and a group of people. Well this year they decided to go again and I was invited!! Christmas...

Well I know this is super late!!! I don't even know if I should post it! But here are some pictures from Christmas time. Sam and I drove to St. George on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas with my family. We stayed until Sunday morning! While we were there we spent some time with my extended family and my immediate family!! It was a blast!! My mom and I made curtains for our apartment and we did some after Christmas shopping!!! I know this sounds super cheap, but I waited til the day after Christmas to go and get a tree and some ornaments and also an ornament for Sam and my first Christmas together!! I got a smokin deal and I love the ornament that I found!!!

Last night Sam and I went to another Grizzlies game!! We had a lot of fun and the Grizzlies won! We also came home with a souvenir!!! They were throwing these shirts and Sam told me to stand up and yell so I did and they threw this one our way!!! And Sam the man caught it!!!! What an awesome husband he is!!!!

So I finally saw the movie Twilight! Two days in a row in fact!!! I loved it so much on Friday night that Saturday Sam and I and Sam's parents went and saw it!!!! It was just as good the second time around as it was the first!

If you don't laugh out loud after you read this you are in a coma! This is even funnier when you realize it's real! Next time you have a bad day at work think of this guy. Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana . He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs. Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne , Indiana , who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won.

Hi Sue,
Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother. Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all.

Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a few technicalities of my job.

As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to the office. It's a wet suit. This time of year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm is this: We have a diesel powered industrial water heater. This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea. It heats it to a delightful temperature.

It then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose, which is taped to the air hose. Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've used it several times with no complaints.

What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wet suit. This floods my whole suit with warm water. It's like working in a Jacuzzi.

Everything was going well until all of a sudden, my butt started to itch. So, of course, I scratched it. This only made things worse. Within a few seconds my butt started to burn. I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done. In agony I realized what had happened.

The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit. Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn't stick to it However, the crack of my butt was not as fortunate.

When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my butt.

I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator. His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing hysterically.

Needless to say I aborted the dive. I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totaling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to begin my chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet.

As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub it on my butt as soon as I got in the chamber.
The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poop for two days because my butt was swollen shut. So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your butt. Now repeat to yourself, 'I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.'

Now whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this a jellyfish bad day?

Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving last week Sam and I went with his parents up to Midway! We stayed and Sam's aunt and uncle's condo from Wednesday to Sunday! It was really nice to get away and spend time with family! It was a little rough for me to not be with my parents and siblings but all in all it was a great weekend!!!
I am so grateful for both of my families!!!
I am finally caught up with my blog!!! So hopefully I won't have to do so many updates all in one night anymore!!! :)

Bookcase

So when Sam and I got married he brought with him a little blue bookcase, I found the perfect place for in it our apartment! The color just didn't match the other furniture! So I decided that if I was going to paint it I better act quickly because the weather isn't getting any warmer! So I bought some shower curtains at the dollar store and laid them out on my living room floor and turned our blue bookcase black! I think it turned out really good!!!

Go Grizzlies!!!!! About a month ago I was given 2 hockey tickets from the company I work for so Sam and I took full advantage!! I never knew how much fun hockey games could be!! But both times we have gone I have thoroughly enjoyed myself!!!

Family Reuion!

Every summer up in Alpine, Wyoming Sam's family does their family reunion! I went with him last year but I wasn't officially a part of the family! So this summer when it came to time to go to the family reunion I was officially a part of the family. It was about a month after we got married and we got to spent about 5 days up at the cabin! We went 4 wheeling and went down the snake river and did lots of other fun things!! We had a blast!
